The Western Central Regional Police Command in Tarkwa has arrested two suspected robbers who posed as military officers.

According to the police, the suspects, Kwame Mumuni and Awal Benjamin, robbed some residents of Tarkwa-Nsuaem of their belongings.

Confirming the arrest, ACP Bismark Agyapong told reporters that they arrested the two through a special operation following a tip-off from some residents.

He continued that the suspected robbers were three; however, one of them absconded during the operation.

“But we have alerted the police intelligence unit about the matter, and we believe the third suspect will be arrested,” he assured.

ACP Agyapong added that they retrieved a motorcycle with no registration number, two military camouflage-patterned uniforms, three boots, a torchlight, black face marks, cutlasses, and GH¢645.00 from the suspects.

He noted that the two would soon be arraigned before the court.
