Minister for Roads and Highways Kwame Governs Agbodza has inspected ongoing construction works on four critical bridges in the Northern and Savanna Regions — Buipe, Yapei, Daboya, and Nawunu.
Joined by Tamale North MP Alhassan Suhuyini and a team of engineers, the Minister visited the project sites to assess progress. He also toured the Binjia-Fufulso road and the Damongo township roads.
Speaking to the media after the inspection, Mr Agbodza highlighted the strategic importance of the Buipe and Yapei bridges.
According to him, these bridges are vital links between Ghana’s Northern and Southern corridors, supporting the flow of trade and transportation with landlocked neighboring countries.
“The progress is encouraging, and government remains fully committed to completing these projects,” he assured local chiefs and residents.
The Minister’s visit is part of a four-day inspection tour across the Northern, North East, Savannah, Upper East, and Upper West Regions.
As part of the itinerary, he is expected to pay a courtesy call on the Yaa Naa and review key infrastructure projects, including the Sawla-Wa road, Tamale Ring Roads, and the Wapuli Bridge.
