Parliament has passed the 2025 Appropriation Bill, authorising the government to utilize GH¢293 billion from the consolidated fund and other public funds for the upcoming financial year.

The bill provides the legal framework for government expenditures, ensuring that funds are properly allocated to key economic sectors.

The approved budget highlights substantial allocations, including GH¢68 billion for wages and salaries, emphasising the government’s commitment to compensating public sector workers.

Additionally, GH¢13 billion has been set aside to settle outstanding arrears from previous years.

This legislative move marks a significant step in securing the necessary funding for government operations and development initiatives throughout 2025.

The funds will support infrastructure projects, social services, and economic programs aimed at fostering national growth and stability.

Following the passage of the bill, First Deputy Speaker Bernard Ahiafor confirmed its approval, saying, “Hon. Members, the Appropriation 2025 is now read the third time and accordingly passed.”

With the bill now approved, attention turns to the government’s effective implementation of the allocated funds.
