Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong, has urged the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to acknowledge their role in the current economic hardships in Ghana.
While addressing party members at the launch of the NPP Ablekuma South Constituency election campaign, the lawmaker said admitting to their mistakes will convince Ghanaians to entrust them with power once again.
He advised the party to humbly apologise to the people during its campaign ahead of the 2024 general elections.
“Let’s go out there with humility, apologise to Ghanaians, and admit your mistakes before you can convince anybody to vote for you. If we ignore the hardships Ghanaians are going through, they will never accept what we are saying.
“You first have to admit that there are hardships; let’s give NPP another chance, and I know we have all learnt our lessons. We are all not going to sit back; we will all support Dr. Bawumia to win,” Kennedy Agyapong advised.
This comes after he called upon his supporters to set aside their differences from the primaries and rally behind Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia for success in the upcoming elections on December 7.

Addressing his followers on Sunday, June 16, during his 64th birthday speech, Mr. Agyapong emphasized the need for unity within the party, stating, “Once I’m a party member, no matter what happened during the primaries, I think we are all one people, and it will be best for all of us to come together.”
Furthermore, Mr. Agyapong took the opportunity to apologize for recent controversial statements made in the Ashanti Region, where he purportedly announced his resignation from the ruling party.
Clarifying his loyalty to the NPP, he affirmed, “I have not resigned,” reaffirming his unwavering commitment to the party’s cause and dispelling speculations regarding his political allegiance.
