Ghanaian-born international model and soccer player Sharon Esinam Sampson will be awarded this year’s Ghana Models Award.

She will be receiving an honorary award as a ‘BreakOut Model of the Year’, organizers of the award ceremony said in a statement.

Founder of the awards scheme, Jerry Wonder Sampson said, Sharon has indeed motivated many and impressed the organizers of the scheme by maintaining her profession as a model and joggling it with her other demanding career as a footballer.

He described her as focused and determined; a rare virtue in many models.

“We are also moved by Sharon’s pride as a professional model; which is contrary to some models who later became successful in other fields of endeavor. We are glad about honoring her because we are proud of her as a Ghanaian-born talent who is doing well internationally. She is a great inspiration to us”, he added.

Sharon Sampson was part of the Ghana Women’s National Under-20 football team and represented Ghana at the FIFA Women’s World Cup U-20.

She is also a professional model managed by ‘FYE Management’ in Sweden, as well as a footballer currently playing in Greece for A.C. PAOK.

The annual awards scheme, which is also Ghana’s first-ever Awards scheme for professional models in Ghana is scheduled to come off at the latter part of this year in Accra.
