Ghana’s National Petroleum Authority (NPA), the state oil regulator, has revoked the licenses of some 30 Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) in the country. Reasons given bythe country’s downstream petroleum regulator are non-compliance with the rules and regulations of the Authority on acquisition and maintenance of their licenses including non payments of approved fees. The Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) has assured mobile money customers who were wrongfully overcharged as a result of the implementation of the 1% Electronic Transaction Levy (E-Levy) of reimbursement.
