A 400-year-old hotel hosting Ukrainian refugees, including children, was destroyed in a huge fire overnight. The blaze broke out at a property on North Street in West Sussex at around 1am on Thursday morning before spreading to the roof of the Angel Inn hotel next door. The Bank of England has held emergency talks amid fears of a new global banking crisis after the worst day for FTSE since the beginning of the pandemic and a Swiss lender took a £44 billion bailout. TikTok has been banned from Government employees’ devices after security concerns about the Chinese app. Cabinet office minister Oliver Dowden confirmed the move to Parliament on Thursday.
