A 47-year-old pastor has met his untimely death after he was attacked by a resident of Ejisu-Donyina in the Ashanti Region. The deceased, identified as Ben Jesus, was reportedly beaten to death by a 35-year-old suspect, who was only identified as Kwabena, on Monday, March 27, 2023. A man arrested at the Kotoka International Airport (KIA) after confessing to the Narcotics Control Commission officers of swallowing pellets of narcotics drugs has been sentenced to 10 years in prison. The Ministry of Employment and Labour Relations has cautioned the public against ongoing fake recruitment exercises purportedly emanating from the ministry. A statement from the ministry said the fake recruiters, who have no affiliation with the ministry, have been notifying the unsuspecting public to come for scheduled interviews. The Institute for Energy Security(IES) has predicted that fuel prices will fall between 2% and 9% for the third consecutive time from April 1, 2023. Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) is also expected to witness its biggest decline in recent times. According to IES, LPG will go down by about 9%, while petrol and diesel will witness a 2% and 5% drop, respectively. The Combined Kumasi Central Market Traders Union (CKCMTU) has threatened to demonstrate against the government over the stalled Kumasi market redevelopment project. The Bank of Ghana (BoG) Governor, Dr. Ernest Addsion, has announced a reversal of the cash reserve ratio on local currency deposits for banks, raising it from 12 percent to 14 percent effective April 13 as part of measures aimed at addressing the mopping-up of excess liquidity in the market.
