President John Dramani Mahama has dismissed Charles Kraikue as the Director-General of the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA).
Following his dismissal, Mr. Kraikue has been directed to hand over all responsibilities to Stephen Wilfred Arthur, who will serve as acting Director-General.
This was contained in a letter signed by the President’s Secretary, Dr. Callistus Mahama, dated April 2, 2025.
The president expressed profound gratitude to Mr. Kraikue for his selfless service to the nation.
“I write to formally inform you that the President of the Republic has terminated your appointment as the Director-General of the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority, effective immediately.
“You are directed to hand over your duties to Stephen Wilfred Arthur, who shall act as the Director-General of the Authority. The President extends his gratitude for your service to the nation,” an excerpt of the statement noted.
The official communication did not specify the reason for the dismissal.
Nonetheless, this decision aligns with the ongoing restructuring efforts across major government institutions.
The new acting director-general will be responsible for managing operations and facilitating a smooth transition at the authority.
