Ghanaian gospel artiste Empress Gifty has dismissed claims circulating online that she has undergone facial surgery.
In a video posted on Instagram on March 28, 2025, she addressed the speculation, clarifying that what some people are calling “face surgery” is actually an anti-aging lift.
According to Empress Gifty, the procedure was a personal choice aimed at preventing wrinkles and maintaining a youthful appearance.
“I haven’t had any surgery. You need to evolve as things change. I’m getting older, and I don’t want wrinkles on my face. Have you noticed how influential people have entered my life since I distanced myself from certain individuals? I don’t hide anything from you,” she stated.
She also addressed concerns about her appearance following the procedure, which she attributed to a lack of proper rest. She explained that shortly after the treatment, she attended the funeral of actor John Dumelo’s father, which prevented her from taking the necessary recovery time.
“Give me two weeks. Ideally, I should have rested after the procedure, but when John Dumelo lost his father, I felt his pain and decided to be there for him,” she explained.
“People started spreading false news about me having surgery. Just give me two weeks, and you’ll see how beautiful I’ll look.”
