The Member of Parliament of North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has expressed his satisfaction with the new set of high-profile ministerial nominations made by President John Dramani Mahama.
Reacting to the latest development, Ablakwa stated that the nominations made by Mahama are a clear indication of his commitment to advancing the country, aligning with his drive for a resetting agenda.
Additionally, Ablakwa said that the nominees selected to serve the country reflect Mahama’s willingness to restore the nation’s reputation and image, as well as his efforts to help rescue it from economic challenges.
The lawmaker described the appointments as deserving and based on merit.
“President Mahama means business, and he certainly means well for Ghana. Absolutely impressive ministerial appointments so far. Congratulations to colleagues — thoroughly well-deserved,” he posted on Facebook on Thursday, January 16, 2025.
President John Dramani Mahama has officially announced another set of ministerial appointments, with Haruna Iddrisu, Kwame Governs Agbodza, and George Opare-Addo making the list.
In the list released by Felix Kwakye Ofosu, Acting Spokesperson to the President, it said that the new set of appointments includes nine cabinet positions and three regional ministers.
Leading the list of high-profile nominees is the distinguished Tamale South lawmaker, Haruna Iddrisu, who is tipped to head the Ministry of Education.
Another prominent figure is Kwame Governs Agbodza, a veteran parliamentarian representing the Adaklu constituency, who, according to the document, is set to lead the Ministry of Roads and Highways.
Additionally, Abla Dzifa Gomashie, the MP of Ketu South, is headed back to the Ministry of Tourism as its substantive minister this time around.
George Opare-Addo, who has risen through the ranks from being a party executive and playing a crucial role in the party’s decisive victory, has also been named in the list.
He is now being considered for the Ministry of Youth Development and Empowerment.
