A heated argument between two taxi drivers at Agona Swedru, in the Central Region, has ended in tragedy with the death of 26-year-old Evans Owusu.
The altercation, which occurred at their workplace in the Agona West Municipality, turned violent when Alex Amihere, a fellow taxi driver, reportedly struck Owusu with a wheel spanner.
The blow caused severe injuries, ultimately proving fatal.
Efforts to save Owusu’s life were in vain despite being rushed to multiple hospitals.
His father, Stephen Owusu, recounted the ordeal:
“He was first sent to the Agona Swedru Hospital, then referred to the Winneba Trauma and Specialist Hospital, but none could handle the severity of the damage. He eventually died at the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital.”
The family of the deceased has been left devastated.
Lydia Andoh, the sister-in-law of the victim, emotionally described the extent of the injuries.
“The suspect damaged his brain before he passed away,” she revealed.
The grieving family has called on the Ghana Police Service to arrest Alex Amihere and ensure justice is served.
