The Kwahu Traditional Council has removed Daasebre Akuamoah Agyepong II from his position as Kwahumanhene over misconduct.
This comes after Daasebre Akuamoah Agyapong II resigned as ADB Board Chairman amid allegations of extortion from a bank customer.
The ADB scandal prompted some angry youth of the Traditional Area to petition the traditional council to destool him.
In the petition, the youth argued that the issue had damaged the stool’s image and that the traditional council should take steps to restore its reputation.
Confirming his removal, the Kwahumanhemaa, Nana Adwoa Gyamfuah II, reiterated that the former Kwahumanhene’s actions damaged the reputation of the Kwahu Traditional Area.

“We have destooled Eugene Kwasi Boadi Asante (Daasebre Akuamoah Agyepong II). The traditional council frowns on chiefs who do not rule in truth. He has brought reputational damage to Kwahuman. He cannot serve as the Chief of Kwahu again.
“In Akan tradition, if a chief passes on, the queen mother enstools a new chief in consultation with Kingmakers. If a queen mother passed on too, the Chief together with the Kingmakers enstool a new queen mother. That is an Akan Tradition,” she explained.
Nana Adwoa Gyamfuah II added that the Abetifihene, Nana Asiedu Agyemang III, has taken on the role of acting president of the Kwahu Traditional Council while they continue with the process of enstooling a new paramount chief.
“We all agreed and informed every member of the traditional council of the decision taken. We also performed rites, calling on the gods for us to be able to enstool a new chief who will be of help to Kwahuman,” she said.
